Yes. He was something. And traffic always bumps on this blog anytime I give him a mention, which accounts for everything by some. I read two great, as always, PARIS REVIEW INTERVIEWS recently. Their reviews are almost as long as a lot of self-published novellas these days, only with better content. The first is a 1962 interview titled Henry Miller, The Art of Fiction http://www.theparisreview.org/interviews/4597/the-art-of-fiction-no-28-henry-miller The second is a 1997 interview with Barney Rosset of Grove Press fame, titled, The Art of Publishing http://www.theparisreview.org/interviews/1187/the-art-of-publishing-no-2-barney-rosset . I found them both to be fascinating and think the Rosset one in particular would be enjoyed by anyone with an interest in the 1st Amendment; the literary scene in the 50s / 60s and beyond; and or politics. It took me about three hours to read them both, maybe longer but well worth the time. Even better than this blog, if you can believe that …

I wonder how many readers have never penned a hand-written letter, put a stamp on it and dropped it in a mail box? I remember getting those aero mail letters from my Uncle as a boy from all over the world. His home base was Australia. It took about 9 days to get there when I would write him back. The act of writing a letter was actually exciting, back then. The sending and the receiving. Henry’s world has changed a bit …
